2009 Porsche Panamera Renderings

Our Italian blogger-buddies at Autoblog.it have posted a new set of scanned (?) renderings featuring the long awaited 2009 Porsche Panamera. We’re getting the feeling that Porsche’s first ever 4door (or 5door) sedan will be one of those hate it or love it cars, and to be honest, from what we’ve seen up to now, we’re leaning towards the “hate it” part. -Continued after the jump

Video: 2009 Porsche Panamera In Nurburgring

Lately we’re seeing a lot of Porsche’s forthcoming Panamera -just last week we showed you a new set of pictures of the Cayenne based sports sedan that’ll be offered with V6 and V8 engines. This time though we’ve got a spy video of the Panamera scooped performing test runs both on public roads and the Nurburgring race track that not only allows us to see the first 4door Porsche but we also get the chance to hear the V8 at work. -Video after the jump

2009 Porsche Panamera: Clearest Spy Shots Yet

The Swedish folks over at “Teknikensvarld” managed to obtain the clearest spy shots of the forthcoming Porsche Panamera that we’ve seen so far. While we still have our reservations for the Panamera’s appearance, we do
ubt that it can get any worse than the Cayenne. And don’t worry; the obtrusive rear wing you see in the images won’t pass into the production version which will probably get a retractable rear spoiler like the 911, Boxster and Cayman models. -Continued: Click “Read More…” below

Porsche’s first-ever sports sedan is scheduled to be unveiled at the 2009 Geneva show, and it will take on the likes of Mercedes-Benz CLS, Maserati Quattroporte and the future Aston Martin Rapide and possibly, the BMW CS. It is expected that the Panamera will be offered with three front-mounted engines, set back to the centre of the car as much as possible to maintain a weight distribution close to the perfect ratio of 50:50. The entry-level version will be equipped with VW Group’s 3.6 FSI V6 unit upgraded to produce a little over 300Hp while Porsche’s own drivetrain will be a direct-injection 4.8-liter V8 petrol engine, available in naturally-aspirated guise and with twin-turbo developing 385 and 500Hp respectively.

Scoop Video: 2009 Porsche Panamera

Porsche’s forthcoming Panamera sedan has been caught on tape this time performing test-runs somewhere in Europe. They say TV makes you look fatter, but we don’t think TV is to blame for Stuttgart’s 5door sedan chubby looks… Check out our previous report on the Panamera here. Via: Youtube

Scoop: 2009 Porsche Panamera

Porsche has been developing its first 4door sedan for quiet a long time now but we still haven’t seen the pre-production concept that the German firm has promised us so until then we’ll have to be content with any spy shots we’re seeing around the net. These ones come from Swedish AMS and they show the Panamera in full action somewhere in Gothenburg.

The front-engined, rear-wheel drive Panamera, which is scheduled to be unveiled at the 2009 Geneva show, will take on the likes of Mercedes CLS, Maserati Quattroporte and the future Aston Martin Rapide. The engine range will come straight from the Cayenne which means that the basic edition to be fitted with VW Group’s 3.6 FSI V6 revised to 290Hp while the top-spec versions will receive Porsche’s 4.8 V8 in naturally aspirated and twin-turbocharged guises developing 385 and 500Hp respectively. 2009 Porsche Panamera on Car’s February cover – True or false?

Aside from the 2008 BMW M3, Car Magazines’ February issue also features a picture of Porsche’s 4door Panamera. To make things even more spicy, the chaps over at Car posted an alluring teaser article and a larger picture of the Panamera:

Exclusive! Porsche Panamera: Here it is - the much talked about four-door, rear-driven, V8-powered GT which will be the fourth model in Porsche's highly exclusive model range in 2009. We've got the pictures, the details and the whole story.

Even though the image of the Panamera that’s hosted on Car’s site is a tad tiny for someone to validate its authenticity, I had a hunch that we’ve seen it before. A quick search on Carscoop’s archive revealed the following pic which is a rendering of the 2009 Porsche Panamera that we found on Autobild's site. Too bad. Via: Car

2009 Porsche Panamera - Scoop

Autobild is giving us its view on how the 2009 Panamera will look like through a couple of "chops" that are based on Porsche’s official sketch and various spy pics of the pre-production test car. With the exception of the humongous tail-lights, it looks quite nice if you ask me, but don't sketches -or chops always do...

Design aside, from what Porsche tells us, its new four-door Sports CoupĂ© will enter the market in 2009 and it will be powered by various engines. Although they don’t give any specific information about the engine range it will surely include normally aspirated and turbo V8 engines. The power unit will be fitted at the front and will drive the rear wheels. Dr. Wendelin Wiedeking, the President and CEO of Porsche AG stated that Porsche will be developing and building the Panamera through the Company's own resources and expected sales are at least 20,000 units a year.
