Volkswagen MicroBus Hotwheels Style

I could have sworn that I used to have one of these as a toy back in my junior years. Looks great, doesn’t it? The Hotwheels themed Volkswagen Microbus turned up at the 60th anniversary of the Bus in Hannover, Germany in early October along with a selection of over 5,000 Transporter vans and campers ranging from the original ‘split-screen’ T1 to today’s fifth-generation models.

VW MicroBus Limousine

This 60’s MicroBus limousine made a special appearance at the VW Bus Exhibition in Hanover earlier this month (October 5 to 9) to celebrate the Microbus’ 60th anniversary. We don’t know any specific details about the MicroBus stretched limo but it certainly goes down as one heck of a cool car in our books. Can you imagine what it would be like owning a vehicle like the MicroBus limo in 70’s; totally orgylicious to say the least… -More images after the jump

VW Celebrates The Bus' 60th Birthday

Volkswagen held an official event to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Bus last weekend (5-7 October) in Hanover, Germany. The event attracted 71,000 visitors and a selection of over 5,000 Transporter vans and campers ranging from the original ‘split-screen’ T1 to today’s fifth-generation models. According to VW, van fans travelled from as far away as Australia, Portugal, Russia, The Ukraine, Denmark, Poland, the UK, France and Holland. The celebrations started with a convoy through Hanover from the VW factory to the showground hosting the event where there was a covered stage to honor vehicles nominated for special prizes, plus a display of 100 historic and unusual models and exhibits from the VW museum, including the original design sketch from 1947. -More pics after the jump
